Every set of Long John base layers I've tried, regardless of brand, always had a small flaw; Not enough space for the buttocks. Anyone who wears a size 2XL is going to have a large back area and I'm no exception, but every brand and pair I've tried covers the groin area but not the buttocks. Make me feel like they're going down I'm amazed at how warm they keep me in the areas they really cover. And because they're not as bulky as quilted ones, it's a lot easier to move around.
