The unit is amazing, the built in timer is the most useful thing about this unit. With a full RGB spectrum designed for growing plants, the device isn't powerful enough for plants that need strong light, but for all plants that grow in low light conditions, this device is a must-have. The light is also placed very low in the aquarium. So unless your tank is covered with a lid, water/bubbler water will splash all over this unit. The low heat output of this LED block is very pleasing to the eye. The reason for the 3 stars is because 1: it could be higher in an aquarium setup, 2: at 100% power I was expecting more light. Compared to my Beamswork DA model, the beams work at 100%, twice as bright as on this device. I will still use it to grow mosses and plants in low light but for tall tanks this light is not enough to reach the bottom. So recap: Pros: 1: Warm light temp 2: Built in timer 3: RGB full spectrum 4: Device is thin and not bulky Cons: 1: Could use higher height/sit low 2: Not very strong for plants with strong light
