It's really effective if you can move it in the right direction, but it can be a little tricky. It is constructed asymmetrically so you need to flip it to always use the right side against the skin and then you need to indicate the direction you want the hair to be gathered. Rolling forward seems to work normally. If you can get it to catch you can pull out a lot of hairs at once, and even very, very short ones. This way I can clean my entire upper lip in less than 15 minutes. On the other hand, in places where the hair is sticking out in different directions or where it's difficult to point the tool in the right direction, you can fiddle around for a long time without actually doing anything; it's almost useless on the underside of my chin. By the way, if it's starting to get greasy from excessive skin contact, WD-40 is a damn effective way to clean it up.
