8 panels REALLY big! Luckily, they separate effortlessly into two records. Basically I got this for my older bitch. She mostly sleeps in her small armchair, but is constantly bothered by other dogs. Another issue was that she is a bit frail and sometimes just pees on the floor. Other dogs can smell it and assume I want them to notice it too. She's a small dog so with only 6 panels she has plenty of room to run around and it fits in her little chair. I use disposable pads to please the floor and this fixed this problem. I tested the entire enclosure with all four dogs. These are papillons ranging in size from 6.5 to 14 pounds. With 8 panels they have enough space. One of my dogs is extremely agile and jumped right over him. My older dog and two other dogs didn't even try. All in all it was a good purchase and I would recommend it.
