burns so fast!: candles and candlesticks

I bought this to avoid butane inhalation. So I cut off a 4 inch section and lit the end. MAN burns out FAST! Before I could take my third breath, he was about to burn my fingers. I even tried letting the flame go out and using the smoldering end, thinking I was doing it wrong. I guess I shouldn't have used it like that. I can see how fast this 50 foot cable burns out. I can say that the taste was pleasant! If anyone has any recommendations, please feel free to share them with me!
