The design of Sperry's Striper II Slip-On Sneakers likely dates back to the Keds, and the concept of canvas shoes rather than rubber shoes was pioneered in Britain as early as the 19th century. . Since then, many companies have made a version of this shoe. I like the look of Vans (a much younger company in the footwear world) but they rarely fit my wide feet. I don't think Keds stops making shoes like this for men. This is my second pair of Sperry and I am happy with them. This classic style never gets boring and is very comfortable in medium to wide widths. Cheap, casual and cool, I love these Sperrys!
