Grade A+ Serious Army Knife

First of all it's a hammer. This is a solid military all-purpose/combat/bayonet knife. It's coated in gun oil/grease that smells of cosmoline when you pull it out - it's not the "blotchy" paintwork that a 1-* "reviewer" noted. It's probably a good thing he sent it back because if you can't tell the difference between mottled paint and gun oil/grease. You have to stick to mushroom picking. ' said Nuff. Also, the blade isn't razor sharp from the factory, as it's a hybrid melee weapon that serves three purposes: 1) as a utility knife, 2) as a combat knife, and 3) as a bayonet. fitted to the StG77 automatic rifle. This is a tool that needs to be actively used, not admired on the shelf. So, yes, with hybrids you will NEVER get ALL the intended characteristics at the PERFECT level, but I daresay this wood makes them all very commendable. A coat? I love it. I have a knife from my old department that as a combat, utility, and survival knife beats the snot out of this knife, but it also sure costs five times and more than this. However, I appreciate that my service knife pulls silently out of its leather sheath. so you don't hear it, you *feel* it coming. This case is not 100% silent, but this case will not wear out if you practice using it properly with one hand. If you can't figure it out, then gather mushrooms. I dare say that Glock made a perfect product for its intended purpose and most importantly for the price. This is a great dunk for any soldier or civilian; Extremely versatile, durable and economical. The latter gets you contracts worth millions. Oh, does the finish come off when you actually use it? Big thing. This is a carbon steel blade and the treatment is to suppress the glare of bare steel, not as a rust preventative. For some reason it is covered in gun oil/grease and you need to oil/grease it regularly or it will rust. This is generally the payoff for a carbon steel blade, but it also takes a lot to strike and hold the blade. Speaking of the blade, this is a tough blade that is not that easy/quick to sharpen. like some fake steel "blades" but it holds up fairly well with relatively little use when you need more sharpness than what comes with it. Let's just say it's not a scalpel (because it shouldn't be), but it's not blunt either. It's long enough and nimble enough for decent knife work, and sharp enough to get the job done. In addition, the thickness of the blade is quite sufficient if you need to pierce an object with significant force (yes, after all, it is also designed as a bayonet!). If you put aside the desire to have the best blade in the world for $30 with shipping, you will be perfectly satisfied with what the Glock has to offer. If you're delusional that you can get a custom special forces soldier's combat knife for that kind of money, you need to be talking to someone, not a blade.
