For less than half the price of a comparable scanner from a "mainstream brand" I wasn't expecting much from this scanner. But it works great! It was very easy to pair with my iPad and I use it with the Square POS app with no problem. It scans many different types of barcodes, including 2D barcodes (e.g. QR codes). It scans 1D barcodes from a greater distance than 2D barcodes, but that's just the nature of the scanner, and even then you still don't need to be very close. Several people have mentioned slowness or lag in scanning. . This is a setting that can be changed! The product manual is full of control barcodes that change many settings, including the "write speed" at which the scanner sends letters/numbers to the device. The default setting was definitely slower than I would have liked so I scanned a control barcode that said it would increase the speed and now it's almost instant, it's that fast! Some devices you link this to may need a slower setting, but I've set it to the fastest using an iPad and haven't had any issues with it so far. Be sure to keep the product manual for these control barcodes! There are so many settings you can change or enable/disable e.g. B. Putting it into continuous scan mode, so you can mount the scanner on a stand and simply bring barcodes up to it for reading without pressing a button. There is another one you can scan to show/hide onscreen keyboard on iOS devices.
