I love this heated curling iron with silicone brush! Here are some reasons why.1. Soft silicone bristles hold the hair firmly on the heated rod.2. Silicone reduces the risk of burns as the silicone bristles provide some protection against metal.3. This reduces the time it takes to curl my hair as I use the straightener's brush to brush my hair from root to tip and then curl it.4. It makes my hair soft, shiny, straight hair with waves and soft curls.5. The silicone is flexible and soft, not stiff like some curling irons with brushes. A couple of key points - you want to comb your hair from roots to hair and then immediately curl the brush towards the scalp. Don't try to grab or add extra strands of hair beyond what you kept after brushing from root to tip, as this is likely to result in a hair-to-wand tangle that is difficult and painful to untangle. (For example, after parting a section of hair, place the brush close to your head or in the middle of the motion and use silicone bristles to comb your hair to the ends and then curl it. When you do this, some of the Shorter hairs will fall out and off the shaft (don't take these hairs and put them in the straightener, just do these parts separately.) Remember, if you're used to traditional curling irons, the curls from this product aren't like that defined like those with metallic curls. Iron. However, I like the more natural and softer curls (as opposed to Shirley Temple's curls) and find they complete the look I'm going for. The very straight hair is totally inappropriate for my age (42) or the shape of my face, but I like the soft volume. Also, this item is not a dryer/curler/brush. It does not replace a blow dryer and you must air dry your hair after washing or use a separate blow dryer before curling or styling with this attachment. Overall hairstyle with more even body, bounce and shine. I really like the results with this product and find that it works well after washing and blow drying and even better the day after shampooing when there is still some styling product on the hair.
