Review on Cadillac Escalade/Escalade EVS Fog Light Set - 1-Pair by Kevin Compton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I inspected them prior to installation and it looked like there were gaps between the lens cap and the body.

I read the reviews on this product before buying because the price was very low. Some of them report that moisture builds up fairly quickly, but I bought them to test anyway. I inspected them prior to installation and it looked like there were gaps where the lens cap and body were glued together. I went and bought a tube of clear glue/silicone glue for $7. It needs to be an adhesive, not just a silicone gasket, and you should buy one that can handle heat (buy from an auto parts store) as it will get hot from the bulbs. I sealed the lens and body where they meet. I let it dry overnight but could probably only wait an hour. I removed the old fog lights using a short ratchet (a ratchet handle that's too long won't work) and a 7mm bit. There are 3 7mm head screws per case. After that he installed a new case without any problems. Took me about 10 minutes for each hose, but it will probably be quicker if the car is put on jack stands or a hoist. I got under the car without lifting it and everything was fine. I'm quite a tall guy so I think anyone can do this without jacking up the car. I turned them on and tested them to align where they were pointing. They glowed more yellow compared to the headlights, which were whiter. However, this is easily remedied by purchasing new ones of the type and color to your liking. I left them as they aren't on all the time anyway. Overall I'd say it's a good buy for the price, even with the purchase of a sealer. Other fog light housings for sale start at $50 and go up, so it's up to you to decide if they're worth buying. I know I will be buying more for my other Escalade.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • The list will be long.
