100W is more suitable for dimming than 75W.
I love these bulbs. I bought a 75w Daylight pack and a 100w Soft White pack. I replaced the daylight bulbs with soft white bulbs because they didn't match my yellow kitchen. down dims, some lights go out. But when I dimmed the 100-watt bulbs, they all continued to burn at a lower brightness level. Can't answer the durability question, but they seem pretty strong and durable. Highly recommended.
