It works and is well built.

This is the maximum (acceptable) length for an unamplified USB 2 cable. The Kromek gamma spectrum analyzer (power and data) works great with it. Longer (e.g. 25') unamplified straight cable, read the reviews on that. You won't be powering many devices.
