I like this bag and it is of very good quality. I have a 14 lb chihuahua and she is a bit big for her but she is free to move around in her bag so she loves it. I love that it has a front door and a rear garage door that makes getting in and out pretty easy. The zippers are plastic and I open and unzip them very carefully because if they don't work the bag is useless. The bag itself is very durable, with lots of thick mesh that lets enough air through even with the valves down. I have a very energetic Chihuahua who will pounce on other dogs if given the chance so flaps come in handy when another dog is around - it's like blinkers on a horse - she gets scared but can't see what's around them so it can't explode. So I needed a sturdy bag that was a good light color - not black because black gets too hot for dogs - and that could handle a bully. This bag is also good because, in addition to the usual handle, it has a very long padded adjustable shoulder strap. I take my dog almost everywhere and my old Martha Stewart bag was starting to break, so I needed something to carry to the grocery store. I will say the only downside to this bag is that it is a bit big and doesn't fit in many of the children's compartments (baby seats) that are in the front of the shopping carts. I can break it but it doesn't fit like an old bag. The only thing that's really cool are the 4 zippered pockets on the sides. It fits treats, a bracelet, an iPhone, and a collapsible water bowl. The only thing that doesn't fit is a water bottle, but I can put it in my pocket with her and she has something to lick while she waits for me to pour some water in her bowl. The bag also has a warm faux Sherpa side pillow and a cool side pillow made from the same material as the canvas part of the bag to rest on. This pillow also has a zipper that allows you to take out the inner foam and wash the outer material. I wouldn't machine wash this though, it's not that durable and would probably benefit from a good hand wash and hang dry. The color I chose is light blue with sea blue which makes me feel cooler in the hot summer months. I just love finding a bag that isn't too hot, is very durable, has good mesh, good handles and is sturdy enough to take around town or on a plane. Now she can really take me anywhere. my furry companion! ARF!
