Even though I threw mine away I still felt it deserved a 5 star rating. I bought this to use as a very strong curtain rod - in a window where I didn't want to poke holes in the rail. I have tried other lower quality pull rods but they did not hold the curtain for long. My curtains are lined and a bit heavy, so I needed something that wouldn't break down over time. I would say it will work for my application. I installed it, hung the curtains - and I found that it wouldn't budge. The installation guide was easy to follow. However, after looking at them for a couple of weeks, I decided that these curtains really needed the standard curtain rods (drilled into the ledge) - the drapes didn't look right when hung "in" the ledge - they would have in front meant to be . But that's not the rod's fault. :-) However, it looks thick and muscular - maybe it looks ok for some curtains - but it really is a shower curtain rod.
