When installing, you cannot move or change the position of the head where the TV is attached. This is based on the screw orientation, which you don't know until you install or read this post. The actual head doesn't rotate, so if you attach 2 bolts to the beam, it deflects 45 degrees and hardly compensates for the rotation of the vortex. The stand attaches to the strut with a single sliding screw. Less than idle and doesn't feel entirely safe. The column moves with the least effort. It has plastic screw mounts to fix the TV to the ceiling. Not rocket science, but when you've got plastic in drywall, 20+ pounds of holes and the price of a TV, it's a silly decision. If possible, mount on a joist. I added screw clamps to the metal drywall to replace the crappy plastic clamps. In addition, it has a fold-down TV mount and metal pole, so I got what I paid for and bypassed the lack of stands.
