First of all, these bags fit perfectly in my trash can. However, I don't think they were specifically designed to fit in a trash can. We usually use them to clean workplaces where a dustbin is not a viable solution. So we just carry the bags and throw garbage in them. I've had clapboards, pieces of plywood, pieces of cinder, nails, screws, etc. and never had a problem. I just want them to come with a few twists to secure when full. We end up using cable ties or some kind of rope in the workplace. But for the price, these bags can't be beat.
