I bought this because I need light in dark closets and don't want to plug it in. They are cheap and inexpensive. However, they have thought of almost ALL the details. In the center is a nice "standard" switch that looks like a regular light switch, complete with tactile resistance and a hard click when turning the light on and off. There are 4 columns of LED lights that are incredibly bright. At night, they can light up a large room (think "useful when the power goes out"). It runs on 4 AA batteries, which are included. But these are the regular batteries that you get with most devices, so I would expect them to run out quickly and be replaced by Energizers. There are two strong magnets that can stick to any metal surface and provide enough holding power for the switch, but don't overdo it with the switch. There are also two 3M strips on the back. But wait, that's not all. These are VELCRO 3M strips! That's enough to fix the flashlight firmly on the wall, while it can be detached to change the battery or carried around as a flashlight. The only thing missing is a motion detector for the light, but I wasn't expecting that.
