I put this device on the kitchen table and put in a disk with thousands of photos. It worked flawlessly and even old grainy photos look fine. Programming features like on/off time and photo randomization are welcome. You don't have to save energy (like with a battery), but the motion detector is a good thing. The manual is a little sketchy, but the remote gets intuitive. Please note that 10.5 inches is diagonal and that some small or 4x6 photos will not fill the screen unless you allow distortion. This is a great way to kill time while waiting for the water to boil.
