would work better with a bulkier case or larger phone/tablet

Works but awkward to set up so we left it on all the time when not intending to. I have an iPhone 6 with a minimalist case and it doesn't hold the phone tightly it just lays down, works better with a bulkier case or larger phone/tablet.
