We looked for ways to get him to communicate with us and found these great little things:

I was having a terrible time getting my Australian Cattle Dog to go outside to sleep him remove. This was the first time I've struggled with this in a dog and honestly thought he might have a disease. That is, until my friend said we had one damn quiet pup. He stood by the pusher and waited, then walked right in front of us when we didn't quickly spot it, and ducked. everything off We looked for ways to get him to communicate with us and found these wonderful little things. We hung it on the sliding door and after a week it was like magic. At that time he was about three and a half months old, a year later the results are still incredible. As a person who tends to get bogged down and block out a lot of things, they're at just the right volume to break my focus on tasks and allow me to let him out when he needs to go. I would put something in to protect the walls around him, although there's a lot of chips now and some of our walls in the corners are even worn to steel from being hit so hard. I take the time to round and dremel his nails once a week, and I shudder at the thought of the damage that can happen in a home that can't do this all the time.
