I bought two of these a few years ago and installed them with no problems. Well, it appears that while the product's looks and functionality are the same, the bracket tolerances, screw head size, and screw length create a serious gap between the fixture and the ceiling. It seems that the production parts of this device have changed for the worse. It was so frustrating that we took apart the ones we had bought previously to compare it to a recently bought one and see the differences which resulted in this job taking 30 minutes. Previously the bolt was flush with the ceiling and the current threads are of poor quality. To salvage this piece of crap, we had to flip the screw and bracket and cut some pieces of wood to fill the space between the flipped bracket and the drywall, which at least allowed the top of the screw to rest against the ceiling, thus closing the gap. when you hang the lamp. The amount of money we spent buying three of these things (over $150) and the man-hours wasted trying to find a workaround would be better spent having an electrician turn off the home's existing power . room and run it up the wall. Then I could at least offset the cost by buying three economical counterparts and relaxing while I work instead of having to redo the setup for a defective manufacturer's product. This product is no longer worth buying. DO NOT BE FOOLED. IT IS SHINY AND SMOOTH OUTSIDE WITH NO QUALITY OR QUALITY GUARANTEES AS TO BRACKETS, SCREWS OR THREADS. I will NEVER buy It's Exciting Lighting again! It's something normal, but EXCITING is NOT the word I would use!
