I'm bald so this works fantastic for me. My wife was worried he would get caught pulling her hair. When she tried it, she was pleasantly surprised that it didn't work. The massager has two speeds, but I found the high speed, which turns on when the switch is turned on, to be very handy. The lower speed is a little gentler if someone has a very sensitive scalp. Each of the four legs has several small rubber "fingers" or kneaded knots. Each of the fingers flexes as they rub against your scalp, working like many little fingers to relieve your tension. I think it would be helpful for people who suffer from tension headaches and possibly migraines although I don't have them so I can't say experience. We haven't used the massager long enough to know how quickly it drains batteries, but it doesn't seem to draw much power or run at high speeds. I would be surprised if the batteries were drained quickly.
