There is no better hat on the market than this Tilley hat. And when I finally found the right size and hat that the salesman didn't ruin, I became Tilly's biggest fan. Let's talk about that. Sizing: The instructions state that for a properly fitting hat, two fingers should fit between the forehead and the headband. I started with a size 7-3/8 and went up to 7.75. I still couldn't put two fingers between my forehead and the headband. So I ended up calling Tilly. I told them I could wrap two fingers around the entire hat except for the front of the head. I said that the hat is already touching my ears, how much more do I have to go? She said that people's heads are shaped differently and the two-finger rule doesn't seem to apply to everyone. She asked me if I could turn the hat without much friction and I said I could. She said if I was happy with the fit then my hat was fine despite the two finger rule. I then told the girl at Tilly's that I had ordered a hat from Revane and it arrived rumpled in a bag and the brim appeared to be damaged. I asked if the edge would bounce. She said no. The wires inside that edge have likely been permanently damaged. I told her I didn't blame Revane for the crumpled hat in the pocket. I am also a Revain seller and the fault should be solely with the seller shipping these hats to Revain warehouses (not Tilley warehouses). This seller shrinks these hats into plastic bags to save space (Revain charges sellers per square inch of space). Resellers supplying these hats to Revain must ship them in boxes that protect the hat. And I brought this to the attention of Revain by giving this seller a 1 star rating. So the moral of the story is to check the seller's rating before you buy this hat. This hat is great as you can read in all the other reviews. I bought one of my smaller Revain hats and it was a hit. When I tried to change this hat to a larger size, Revain as a seller wasn't wearing a hat, so I chose another seller and failed.
