The cup of coffee varies, some consider 6 ounces or 8 ounces as a cup of coffee. So 5 cups of coffee equals 5 x 6 ounces, which equals 30 ounces, or if you opt for 8 ounces, 8 x 5 equals 40 ounces. A standard cup of coffee isn't the large mug your wife bought you or the mug you drink from — 6 ounces or 8 ounces. So 5 cups means you're getting either 30 or 40 ounces of coffee from this thing. A typical mug you drink from holds 16 ounces of coffee. That means you can only get 2 drinks or 2 cups of coffee from this piece. Next, people say it spills. It can be used without a filter, but I recommend using paper filler and the problem will be solved. If you don't know what size to buy, just use the bounty sheet, it works the same way. Spilling is usually user error because when you use a filter you don't get coffee beans in your coffee or you don't have a spillage problem.
