Such fun! I won't lie, I had to return mine. VERY simple to put the bumpers on, shake it, and put in bird bath. My problem was, with the bumpers on, there wasn't any room for the birds to get into the bath, and with the bumpers off, it got too close to the edges of the bath and shot the water out. I was going out every 1.5 - 2 hours and refilling. It was fun to watch, and the birds would drink out of it regardless of where it was in the bath. Oh, and the battery backup - that's all built in, you don't need to put a battery in. But what happens, when it's in the shadows or nighttime, it ONLY runs sporadically. Wish I'd would have had a larger body of water to use it in!
