Battery operated candles for emergencies

I live in an apartment in South Texas where storms, including hurricanes, are not uncommon. After the February freeze, which also caused me to lose energy for a full day, I decided to be more active. So far I've bought a small power station that will charge my phone, Kindle and laptop; rechargeable light bulb for the lamp in the living room; and those candles so I could move from room to room in my small apartment on the night of a power outage without walking in complete darkness. Of course, up close they look like the plastic they're made of, but from a distance, as decorative lighting or emergency lighting, about as much as a night light, they're absolutely fine. The remote works well too, although I haven't tried the timer function. I'm one of those crazy, "educated" Texans who actually believes that climate change is real, so I know natural and man-made disasters like the February blackouts will continue, and I wanted to be more prepared.
