In December we rescued a Great Dane. His story is pretty sad, but he was anorexic when we got him. Among many other things we had to lift his weight. Our vet recommended this. Boy what's the difference! In a good 3-5 months he gained a very healthy weight, his coat was so shiny and beautiful and he was growing into the big strong boy we knew was inside him. We recently decided to try cheaper food due to its high cost. In just a few months after switching to regular grocery food, he lost 15 pounds. So we're here forever. Giant breeds are worth EVERY sane penny. I will feed my next Great Dane the same way. Highly recommended.
