vanishing It's been a tough year for hay in the Midwest, with heavy rains and not many dry days. Hay prices reached as high as 7.00 bales in some areas. We got hay for 5.00 a bale, but heavy rain made the hay in many barns moldy and dusty. Our barn bought this hay moisture tester and we are confident it has saved us a lot of money and the headache of buying moldy hay. We literally field tested 75% of the bales we took off the hay wagons to make sure they were dry. Some weren't and we let them. I opened a few bales that we tested about a month ago and they're all great! I highly recommend this moisture tester. So far we have had great results with this and we have peace of mind that the hay we buy is dry and dries well. No season will go by without him. We only took bales at 19% or less, all dried up and cured well!
