This was the first time I've seen a memory card that came in a bag rather than the factory sealed anti-static bag or plastic case. Once I installed the memory and started my computer, I understood why. As if this slot had no memory at all. I think I bought a fried memory card. So I installed another memory card and it worked fine. I think I messed it up. I wouldn't be surprised if a company sells used, dead memory cards as new, working ones. If it arrives in a bag, that's probably the first clue. I say this from experience, having bought a fried motherboard from an international mail order company that happens to be where I live. When the "baby" salesman took the second motherboard from the stack on the shelf instead of the first, and then opened it up, took it out of the already opened bag and showed it to me, I should have suspected something was wrong. The new motherboard is in a sealed bag. The "baby" in sales knew what it was doing. I didn't realize anything was wrong until I drove the motherboard 40 miles to my house and tried to install it. That's when I realized the motherboard was an older model. but I didn't know at the time that it was fried too. The company I bought it from tried to say they didn't sell it to me and didn't trade it. I got a hell of a deal on them at the counter in front of other buyers until they traded it. I'm just saying this to let you know that things like this happen in some supposedly reputable multinational businesses. When you see your electronic component in a box, you can bet you were screwed before you even installed it. It can certainly be an honest mistake and coincidence when a memory card ends up in a box and then goes bad. On the other hand. In any case. Amamax (US seller) gets to keep eleven dollars. I've ordered again from another company I've dealt with before.
