I usually use negatives on the Canoscan 9000f. But I'm traveling and wanted to scan some negatives before returning home (and yes, I'm traveling with a small film developing kit). So I ordered this and thought it would be ok now. And I rescanned some of the pictures I really wanted when I got home. First, it is very limited in its capabilities, but digitizes 120, 35mm and 127mm with ease. By the way, I use all 3 formats. Digitizing an untrimmed roll of film of any size is incredibly fast. Much faster than is possible with a flatbed scanner. And I can upload photos directly to Google using the device as a drive on my computer. I do all my edits on my computer or google photos. So for little money you get a pretty good scanner. Later I scan in the few photos that really interest me. But so far I have no complaints. Most of what I photograph is black and white. I have a stack of old slides that I'll try when I get around to it and I know it will speed up the process.
