This might work if you're an experienced installer, but I'm your typical unskilled guy. The first thing I did was drop it down the stairs and the flimsy flimsy plastic mount broke and I lost part of the edge. Bad looking but functional. Completed the installation. So for testing I found the standard plug to be a very tight fit in the socket, it will likely loosen over time but I expected a better fit. I decided to remove it and upgrade, but the screws that came with it have a "universal" triangular head (Square, Phillips, and straight screwdriver). This means that none of the three will work well. I used a blue plastic ceiling box, the screws got so tight the head fell off and couldn't be removed. So I used pliers to break up the plastic and a vise to remove the stripped screw. Then I went to the hardware store and bought a slightly more expensive porcelain lamp. It might work better for you, but I'd like to avoid porcelain from the start.
