Review on Stay Warm And Tactical This Winter With CQR Men'S Military Hunting Jacket - Lightweight, Water-Resistant, And Fleece-Lined by Jake Pavelko

Good, but with issues

The XL jacket's fit is spot on for me, good room in shoulders and sleeve length. The built-in fleece liner is not very thick but does allow for good heat retention. I needed the extra length and slight bagginess this jacket offers due to work and it covers the work gear just fine with no "printing" (even with my slight dad-bod). I like the higher front pockets however, the inner phone/music device pockets need to be placed about an inch+ down and an inch+ toward the central front zipper. Where they are now makes it a very awkward movement with bending the arm to get something into or out of the pockets. The jacket's removable hood (the only thing I have any problems with), which arrived zipped onto the jacket and outside of the stow-away collar, has its own issues. It does have a rear, outer pull string to tighten it to your head, however, I'm 6'-4" and have a decently long neck and this hood is easily 3"-4" higher than my head. This causes the hood to hang down over my face and not sit on top of my head. The material is so thick that I can't move it back to keep it above the brow-line either. As to the hoods thickness and the stow-away collar, .no. If the manufacturer would make the stow-away collar space larger by roughly 3/4 of an inch to an inch, it might help to off set the inflexible nature of it. Rolled up and stowed, the collar is so dense that it pretty much negates the use of the jacket. The ends of the collar end up pointing outward to each shoulder and no amount of bending or manipulation get it to look or feel like a regular collar. It's just this big round cloth tube.I'll recommend the jacket, but you'll realistically need to keep the jacket hood out, or unzip it and leave it someplace when not needed. If the manufacturer makes the hood stow area larger, to help with flexibility, I really think that would help a lot.

Pros
  • Stands up to harsh weather conditions, making it a reliable choice for all outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some customers reported the jacket being too noisy due to fabric materials
