Compass Finish is absolutely beautiful, perfectly polished with a nice patina, all writing is legible. except one. The author's initials are incorrect. Instead of JRR Tolkien it says JRT Tolkien. However, this is not a huge disadvantage for a person who is not very familiar with the Tolkien universe. My father is a big Tolkien fan. I mean. studied this man in college, he's got all the books, movies, whatever; so I'm hoping to trade it before Christmas, but if not I'm sure he'll still like it. The old man has a great sense of humor.
