Do not buy broken threads.
I bought 2 of these to replace the GE whole house filter in my house. We have well water and I wanted to hook up 2, one for the sediment filter and a 0.05 micron. The socket thread snapped when I hand tightened it. I tried the second one and carefully tightened it. The thread of the filter housing is leaking. I've since gone to Home Depot and replaced it with a reliable GE version. They're made of cheap plastic. Do not buy.
