I needed an extension cord with a long fan cord to help air circulate in the alcove between the bedroom, bathroom and the main part of the apartment. The only usable outlet was in the bathroom, but the short 2ft power cord was dangerous as it had to be on a small countertop next to the toilet. The only possible outlet was in the kitchen, but there was a tripping hazard at the main entrance. The 6 foot cord on this one is spot on! It can be placed on the floor under a closet ledge where it can't splash, next to a door to easily plug in this fan while still being accessible to plug in other equipment needed in the bathroom. The shape of the plug makes it impossible to plug anything else into an outlet, but it's difficult to get something to stay plugged in anyway. The connector on this stays in place very well. Obviously since it spends all of its time on the floor it needs to be durable and it was the best price I found for similar items.
