I am 49 years old with dry skin and discoid cutaneous lupus (an autoimmune disease causing a disfiguring red and scaly rash on the face and ears/hairline). After 5 years of taking the pill every day, I decided to give it up. Because DSL is photoreactive, it means no UV exposure to my body. Chemical sunscreens degrade fairly quickly in the US, so I focused on mineral sunscreens for use under makeup. Wow. What a crash. While I'm pretty honest, most are a hot mess. Tone. untinted. Pooh. SO about her. I have 8 mineral sunscreens in my trash can. But then came Elta MD 47. It moisturizes perfectly and, with a little shading, doesn't leave a white film on my pale face after a few minutes. I find that it dries out, leaving a white residue on my arms and settling in the creases of my elbows because (I think) I just don't work with it enough. /3 product I found the Elta MD which I automatically grab and wonder if there are a lot of them. And the sunscreen you wear will be the best. Elta MD 47 is just right for me.
