I use this voice recorder to record lectures and it's great for recording and playback.(1) The external stereo microphone that is included improves the recording quality significantly. If I don't use an external microphone, the sound quality drops a bit and stays about the same as with other recorders. It goes without saying that this recorder with an external microphone supplied is far superior to all other recorders without an external microphone. (2) Ability to play with noise reduction. If you've used a voice recorder, you know how annoying background noise is. This device can digitally cancel out background noise without sacrificing voice quality, making recordings much easier and more enjoyable to listen to. each lecture lasts about an hour. (4) The included software is very functional and convenient for computer backup and playback, and has an important noise reduction function. (5) I'm using HQ Mono, about 12MB of data. in hour. The sound quality is good enough for lectures. The 512MB of onboard storage is a shame considering how cheap flash storage is these days. With the features mentioned above, especially the included external microphone, I can highly recommend this recorder.
