Richgv Cool Mist Humidifier [UPDATED]

I really liked how it looked with 3 decorative *trees* and space (sponge) for optional essential oil. I liked that it's white and the 400ml water tank (hopefully big enough to last you all night) has a large opening and is *simple* so cleaning up is a breeze. I also liked the fact that you can switch off the light, for me it is simply necessary. The order arrived without incident and I did everything exactly as the poorly translated instructions said. It lit up and the button seemed to work as it should, but THERE IS NO FOG. I left it plugged in and turned it on for a while, but there was still no fog. As usual, the return was quick and easy. In fact, I haven't taken it to Coles yet, fearing the replacement would be just as defective. The 2nd order came faster than the original. Again, I did exactly as instructed: pour in some purified water, immerse the filter rod and soak it for a minute (or 3), put it in the hose and plugged the cord into my phone charger, making sure it was DC . 5V Voila! Immediately a waft of fog came out. Then I realized that the difference is a little FEATHER in a plastic tube. Yes, he was missing from the first part and not mentioned in any *paper*; one in English/Chinese and the other in English/Japanese/German with similar instructions. Also, the little box it was in was re-sealed. I don't know if that means it was used/refurbished but I think at least the seller opened it up to check the spring was included. However, it looks and feels brand new. There is no sound/noise at all. The intermittent setting is about 5 seconds on and 5 seconds off. I need to see exactly how long it lasts (all night and/or how many months) but for only $10 I'm glad it worked. +++ UPDATE +++ I've had it for a while and have found that after about 4 hours continuous (green light) and 6 hours intermittently (red light) it automatically shuts off BEFORE the water runs out. Do I *really* need it all night? Not sure if 1-2 hours would make a difference but it would be nice to have that option as the water tank has capacity. In fact, I don't even know if a humidifier with such a low wattage can even be effective. But at least it doesn't cause messes like leaks/spills and wet/white surfaces. +++ UPDATE #2 +++ Unfortunately it no longer works after 2.5 weeks. I noticed that it shut off earlier and earlier and that there was some water around the gasket where the tank meets the top. It's still on, but THE FOG IS NO MORE. I am very disappointed as this was the only humidifier with ALL the features I wanted; Light control, place/cup for oil out of the water, small size, big enough tank, easy to replace filter rod, price and white color. I will not try any other replacement from this brand/seller.
