I don't know why some people say these lights are dim. I bought these to try and match some of the Christmas wreaths I have that are pre-lit. I struggled to find a good price. This price was fantastic. My wreaths are 24 inches and it was the perfect length. I agree that the instructions are a little strange. But I just looked at what others have posted and figured it out pretty easily. I put plastic sandwich bags around the battery because my wreaths are outside and it's raining. I wear them for two weeks, set the timer and they work great. They also look really good with what I already have and shine bright. They are in my upstairs window and are as bright as my pre-lit wreaths. They are clearly visible from the street. I think it's a good deal.
