Review on πŸ›΅ Yamaha VX 110 / VX Sport / VX Deluxe - 2005-2009 Seat Cover by Karthikeyan Behm

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not perfect, but almost.

I've upholstered before but it turned out to be more difficult than I expected. I didn't get sunlight so put it in the dryer first to soften it. However, it cooled down quickly, so it didn't work very well. I had a hell of a time to tighten it up. I would recommend doing the work outside in bright sunlight so it stays warm and relatively soft during installation. The material is thin which is better for shaping and indeed for recovery. I left the old cover on and taped some of the holes as instructed and each edge of the tape shows through the new cover (which is why I removed the asterisk). There is a small imperfection on one of the stitched seams that is a little wrinkled - I don't think it's my fault but I suspect it could be. Otherwise it looks good (measurements are better than the old rotten one) and the price is reasonable. Thank you for providing it to us handymen. The color on the picture is wrong. Blue is not turquoise but royal blue. Not exactly like my Waverunner, but close enough. Make sure you use monel staples.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • No insurance
