I was an optometrist in college and have some knowledge of the equipment needed to repair and maintain glasses. Now, 30 years later, I've found that I need a nose pad tool, and the pliers in my toolbox are definitely not going to make fine adjustments. This item meets all requirements and works as expected. They are very durable and I expect to see the same type of pliers in an optical store. As mentioned, if you're unsure of what you're doing, save yourself the hassle and place a cloth between your lenses and nose pads in case you slip to avoid scratching your lenses. These pliers aren't fragile, but they do exactly what they're made for.
