Review on πŸͺ’ High-Quality Carbon Steel Straight Edge Shaving Razor for Men with 3” Blade - Black and White Checked Handle by James Thelin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great razor but first you'll work on the edge

Okay so it's made in China. But the Chinese have good steel. If you want to sharpen it properly, you'll need to sand down the heel stabilizers a bit. So pull out your dremmel or get ready to sharpen on a diamond plate for a while. It's not ready for shaving. It is cheap, but due to the mods required, it becomes difficult for beginners. Loops full of rumble. The carbon steel is of good quality but the grit is only adequate. The hardness of the blade is compatible with Philharmonic or some vintage BUT softer. If you take your time and sharpen this thing well, this is literally one of my favorite sharp edges. Forum snobs will disagree, but the edges of Gold Dollars have a totally unique feel unmatched by high-end brands. That's the only reason they're so popular, aside from being cheap practice tools. The edge is smooth to the touch and curves towards my face while my other full and extra cavities don't as they are made of harder steel. I recommend watching YouTube videos to learn how to make them. You may be impressed!
