Smartwool's size chart indicates that these XL socks fit 12-14.5 feet in height and 16-23 inches in calf circumference. The foot pocket is perfect for my 13 foot size. However, the top of the sock does not fit my 21.5 inch calf. Yes, I measure the thickest part of my calf and even asked another person to measure it. I am convinced that Smartwool people cannot work. Measuring tape or just not caring about quality control. The socks would fit well if I could reach the tops to the thickest part of the calf. I wear short smartwool socks with shoes all summer long and I really like them, I thought they might be good in winter with boots.
