So the range of the receiver is great, the sound in the headphones works great at a distance (reception) and the sound is excellent. Installation is very easy, you just connect the receiver to your PC or console and turn on the headset after charging. Sometimes you have to pair, but everything syncs right away on my PC. The comfort is actually pretty good, which is what I would expect from any HyperX headset. use widely. Cables aside, my issue with Clouds is the non-replaceable cable and audio wheel, which are very static and awkward to use. I have now reduced this to normal PC listening, and Cloud Alpha I use for online games / chats. when I don't want something to be separated from me. The previous replacement cable on the Alpha ensures that this shouldn't be a problem in the future. Cloud Flight is better in this regard, but it does have a few downsides that you should be aware of. sound quality. First, it should be seen in the context of what you get from Clouds and Cloud Alpha headphones with decent sound quality. Sound card or built-in sound on your computer. My understanding is that this receiver transmits only and does not function as a sound card (unlike the HyperX USB to 3.5mm adapter which sounds TERRIBLE). . the headset itself. The audio quality for listening is about a 7 out of 10 compared to most other "gaming headsets" but closer to 4 or 5 compared to typical wired HyperX headsets (Cloud and Alphas). It's noticeably tinny with some punchy highs paired with lows that seem to be somewhat lacking. It's just that the headset isn't as clean as the others. I've also used wireless headphones, which weren't affected, so it's not impossible. If you have a SoundBlaster card, you can fix some audio issues and make it sound better, but that's not the biggest problem. The quality of the microphone is very bad. To the point where I thought this product might be defective. Excited to try it out and immediately started using it with my friends on Discord, delighted I cut another set of wires from my gaming rig, to make it cleaner for the eyes. I was told they literally couldn't understand me with this headset and I was less than 3ft from the receiver which was in line of sight. I asked if it was literally that bad and switched to my alphas who they said was MUCH better and they could understand what I was saying. Of course it won't sound like a quadcast, but people should at least understand what I'm saying. A friend said my $20 Bluetooth headset that I use with my cell phone sounded better and clearer than this one. A home theater PC for when I want a quiet night or whatever, but as I could get the right length cable and hook up my Alphas for the same effect I can't recommend it. For a bit more I could get a true wireless headset from Sennheiser or Sony to use for this purpose and the sound quality would be excellent too. I am a HUGE fan of HyperX audio products and recommend them all the time. willing to ignore their flaws (this includes a 3.5mm USB sound card). Buy yourself some Alphas and a long cable or whatever you need to do, it's going to be way better than what you're getting here. In the context of their wired headsets and the phenomenal HyperX Quadcast mic, this needs to go back to the drawing board :( A bit more, I could get a true wireless headset from Sennheiser or Sony to use for this purpose and the sound quality would be also excellent.
