This is amazing. Audiophiles will love it! This is my first magnetic planar headphone. I was excited to get them and they didn't disappoint! HIFIMAN has an excellent reputation as a leader in headphone research. They don't use traditional speakers like all other headphones, so no distortion or clipping is allowed. The description states that they can be powered by a mobile phone or other low-power device. I do not agree. They sound like garbage without a headphone DAC and would draw negative reviews from those new to the world of magnetic planes. You must use a good DAC to appreciate and experience their crisp, clear sound. For only $150 (when I bought them) they sound great with my DAC. The sound separation and balance is great. I recommend upgrading the cable to the best quality and at least 6 feet. It uses a dedicated 3.5mm cable that plugs into each headphone and the other into the headphone jack. You have to hear them to believe them! I will be adding a $600 set of these to my HIFIMAN collection soon.
