Bought last year to run peripherals in the back of my car stereo. I run the tablet as an audio source, it connects to the hub via an active USB 2.0 extender, to which the hub connects via the cable that comes with it. I have a sound card and DSP connected to a hub and the hub also powers the optical-to-coax converter via USB. I powered the hub by cutting the DC connector from the AC connector and plugging it into an installed voltage regulator. to provide the same voltage (and current up to 5A) as the AC connector outputs to DC. Last year I had problems with popping noises coming from the speakers, but I thought it was the audio cables. I've also had issues with peripherals not reconnecting after power cycling the hub, which usually requires restarting or turning the hub on multiple times. There was also digital artifacts and jitter, as if it was a bad optical cable or if the computer was frozen enough that it couldn't handle it. I've also had occasional trouble unplugging peripherals. I eventually found that bypassing the hub and plugging directly into a USB extension cable solved all my problems. Rarely. I'm hoping it might be a faulty hub cable that came with it, or a problem with the power adapter I'm using. For now I give 2 stars. If I manage to resolve any issues I will update this review and rating to reflect them.
