Decent quality but with a few annoying flaws

In general the bracket/handle and case appear to be of normal quality. The bracket is metal and very durable, but the body is much more plastic. It's unique in that the swing arm allows you to mount your phone in a variety of mounting and viewing positions compared to other bike mounts, which appealed to me. But when I received it, I immediately noticed three deal breakers: 1) I have a Galaxy Note 9 with a cheap thin silicone case and a retaining ring on the back, and the phone won't fit in the body of the phone holder unless I remove that Silicone. case/ring holder. The dimensions are correct, but the lid does not close due to the ring holder, making the phone too thick to sit flush against the body. I don't want to take off the silicone case every time I ride my bike, but where do I put it while riding? I don't have to completely drop or damage my phone by removing the silicone case every time I try to attach it to my bike. If you're using your phone without a protective case or ring holder OR just using a very thin protective case, you should be fine. 2) 3 flaps on the case that allow the case to swing very freely. The lid snaps firmly into place, but once you snap them all out and open the case lid, the flaps tend to rotate inward, requiring you to reach out and pull/hold and hold them all when trying to close the lid . do not turn back and prevent closing. It takes two hands to fight them and close the lid. It should be a lot easier to pop in and out of your phone for every trip.3). The screen can actually be used with the cover closed even though my phone has an additional screen protector (I can still use the phone through 2 layers of screen cover). However, when the phone goes into screen lock mode, you won't be able to wake the phone if you don't have a physical button on the top bezel of the phone, since you can't access any of the side buttons with the lid closed. I'll be returning this in favor of a less protective but cheaper bike phone holder. A lot of phones these days are already waterproof and I don't plan on driving in inclement weather either so this phone mount is a bit unnecessary anyway. Good Trip!
