My cat immediately liked this hammock, perhaps for its attractive wooden frame and durable fabric, but I'd like to think she appreciates the extra effort I had to put together attach. It was supposed to be quick and easy, but my kit had a defective part that should have been discovered during the manufacturer's quality control. The nuts were smooth on the inside and had no thread for the bolt. This stopped work as the kit comes with a spare bolt but no extra nuts. In the end I was able to roughly get the bolt to tap its own threads, but not without additional tools and a lot of effort. Aside from the tedious assembly, this cat bed is pretty good for the price. The wood looks great thanks to its high quality coloring and smooth edges. The hammock material is moderately soft, inelastic, and strong enough to support my 14 pound kitten. Rubber feet are included to keep the bed in place when placed on a hard floor. The included screwdriver is of surprisingly good quality, with a reversible Phillips/Flat tip and a rubberized grip. Overall this is a good cat hammock but I can't give it a perfect rating because of one bad detail. Either the factory needs to have stricter quality control or a spare nut needs to be included.
