This multipurpose microfiber towel from Birdrock Home is lightweight and absorbent enough to let me dry completely after a shower. I have medium to short hair but I expect even a person with long hair to be able to dry completely. The towel dries quite quickly in the air - at least when it is used to dry the body. I'm not sure how long it would take to air dry if it were fully saturated. The fit and workmanship is very good, the edges of the towel are sewn. The size (31 x 63 inches) is big enough that I can wrap it around my waist and keep it there securely without worrying about it slipping off. I think it can also be used as a cover up for the bottom of a bathing suit - at least for modesty if not high style. It's easier to roll up a towel and put it in your bag than a flat bag that needs to be folded neatly to fit. But I see that depending on how you want to wear it, the flat style might suit you better. Birdrock offers a similar towel (the only difference is that the other towel has a flat pocket and corner pockets): with a regular cotton bath towel. It doesn't glide over my skin like a regular towel, instead tending to stick/dangle. I found that the blot approach was more effective than the swipe method. The price is on the higher end of the price range for towels like this one.
