This little octopus became an instant favorite with my 6 month old grandson. He loves taking the little rings and figures off the octopus' arms and trying to put them back on. Small pieces also make good teethers. Small enough to be easy to handle and big enough not to choke. He plays with it both in the bathroom and on the playground. ATTENTION! Although this toy is cute and fun, it is made of hard plastic and can be dangerous for young children. This is a toy that can only be played in pairs and then cleaned up. Octopus legs can be dangerous for small eyes and faces if the child loses balance and 'lands face down', as is common at this age. My grandson had a tight situation where he tried to reach it with his hands and knees and lost control. We don't leave this toy with him in his play area unless one of us is right there and actively interacting with him and the toy. Here's another review where someone's child was badly injured after falling on an octopus in the bathtub.
